All the Bright Places

Considering the title, All the Bright Places starts off pretty depressing. Triggered? The two main characters almost vault off the top of a bell tower. What a way to kick off the story. Honestly, this book doesn't stray far from the typical teenage novel. It's very John Green-esque, at least one person has to die. One thing that was confusing was why I kept reading it because it's not thrilling or suspenseful.
It's not action or anything, it's a pretty basic rendition of two people meeting through an extreme situation. One of the favorite situations among writers aimed at teens: death. Be prepared not to like these characters because they drop dead by the end. What a bummer.
