Windows

Windows by Lewis Watson uses enjambed to show his hesitation. The song is about keeping old habits that he had while with someone after they broke apart. The use of enjambed in the song is heard when he sings the song with pauses in the lines in the middle of the sentences. It is like he is taking a pause to show his hesitation and solemn attitude towards the subject. He also uses imagery to describe the habits her keeps. He sleeps with the windows open and he is always cold because whoever he is referencing liked them open.

His use of imagery and enjambed allow the song to have a sad, sullen air to it. That is why it's on his album called "There's Four Sad Songs on it".  The use of enjambed is more evident in his live presentations of the song when he pauses. His use of imagery paints the picture of a lonely heart still connected to a severed relationship.

  1. Sounds like you found the main parts of the song, and found a deeper meaning to it.
