So over the break Caroline and I went snowboarding. It was then that I realized I had the balance of a legally blind giraffe. Which in case you do not know; it is not good balance. Caroline was a natural at boarding the snow. However yours truly was not. There were two others who were in the class. We were the only two who were not legally adults. Wayne was an airline pilot who had the balance (ironically) of a crashing plane. Jill was (most likely) a "spirited" (annoying) twenty-five year old who most likely frequents bars with cheap mimosas and cosmopolitans. She had the balance of herself after too many brunch appetizers doused in cheap boxed wine to drown her sorrows. She was trying to keep up with her boyfriend who was a professional snowboarder and he seemed to be having quite the time teaching her. I fell a lot but not as much as Jill or Wayne. Caroline on the other hand only fell twice. She blames her talent on her hover board but I roll my eyes.
Jill most likely looked up "How to Snowboard (EASY TUTORIAL)" on YouTube in preparation for the lesson labeled "first timers" to impress Erica, the instructor. I do not mean to be rude but it was a good thing Jill was primarily face down in the snow because her voice was not very pleasant but, she loved to talk. I got very mad that I fell on the mountain and threw my snowboard because I don't like sucking at things. However I really enjoyed the trip and would like to try and not suck some more. The only problem is the lack of snow.
Oh boy, sounds like this was eventful. I'd love to learn how to snowboard but I'm sure I'd be iffy at it as well.
ReplyDeleteI liked how you incorporated humor into this blog post. I also liked your word choice.
